Privacy Policy

ResumeJP (resumejp.com) is a free Japanese resume builder operated by the DIGI スタート! studio. This policy explains, feature by feature, what happens to the information you enter, which third parties are involved, and the choices you have. A short Japanese summary is at the end.

Summary

An account is optional, and we do not save your resume — not in a database, not in your browser storage. Reloading or closing the editor resets it.
Signing in with Google is optional and only identifies you. Your resume is never sent to your account.
Editing and the live preview happen in your browser.
Three features send data off your device: PDF download (to our server), Translate (to Google Translate, via our server), and postal-code lookup (to the zipcloud service).
Content pages show Google AdSense ads, which use cookies. The editor does not show ads.
We do not sell personal information.

1. Editing your resume

Everything you type in the editor, including your photo, is held in your browser's memory while the page is open. We do not write your resume to localStorage, cookies, or any other browser storage, and older versions' saved data is deleted automatically when you open the editor. To keep your work, download the PDF or a JSON backup file and re-import it later.

Your browser does remember a few display preferences in localStorage: the interface language, the template you last chose, the font settings, and whether you have already seen the sign-in choice. These contain no resume content.

2. Features that send data

PDF download

When you download a PDF (or a blank template), your browser sends the resume — every field, including your photo — to our server, which runs on Vercel. The server opens the resume in a headless browser, prints it to PDF, and sends the file back in the same request. Our code keeps the data only in memory for the few seconds this takes. It does not write the resume to a database or file, and does not log its contents. If the server is unavailable, the editor creates the PDF in your browser instead, and nothing is sent.

Note: PDFs downloaded from the editor contain a hidden copy of your resume data (the same information shown on the sheet, plus fields a template may not print, such as gender on the MHLW layout). This lets you re-import the PDF later. Anyone you send the PDF to could extract that copy, so only include information you are happy to share. Blank templates contain no data.

Translate

When you press Translate, the text fields of your resume — including your name, nationality, addresses, education and work history, licences, and self-PR — are sent to our server, which forwards each field to Google Translate and returns the Japanese result. Your photo, email, and phone number are not translated. Google receives the text from our server and processes it under Google's privacy policy. If you prefer not to send these details, do not use Translate — or translate with placeholder text and fill in your personal details afterwards.

Postal-code address lookup

When you enter a 7-digit Japanese postal code, your browser asks the zipcloud service (zipcloud.ibsnet.co.jp, operated by IBS Inc.) for the matching address. Only the postal code is sent, directly from your browser, so zipcloud also sees your IP address.

Other exports

The JSON backup file is created in your browser and sent nowhere. The free tools on /tools (photo cropper, era converter, and so on) run entirely in your browser and send nothing.

3. Hosting and analytics

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time — to deliver pages, protect against abuse, and keep operational logs under Vercel's privacy policy.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. Vercel describes it as not using cookies, and it does not receive the content of your resume.

4. Advertising (Google AdSense)

ResumeJP is free because content pages such as guides, templates, and blog articles show ads from Google AdSense. The editor, the preview, the free tools, and legal pages like this one do not load ad code. On pages with ads:

Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often you see them, measure performance, and prevent fraud.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites (personalised advertising).
You can turn off personalised ads from Google in My Ad Center, and learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies (for example, in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), ads are shown according to the choice you make in the consent message.

Ad networks never receive your resume. We publish an ads.txt file listing the sellers authorised to sell our ad space.

5. Contacting us

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your message.

6. Your choices

Use the editor without Translate if you do not want text sent to Google.
Leave the postal code empty or type your address manually to skip zipcloud.
Clear your browser's site data to remove the saved display preferences.
Manage advertising cookies through My Ad Center, your browser settings, or the consent message where one is shown.

7. Google sign-in

ResumeJP is free, but the resume editor and PDF downloads on the website require signing in with Google (reading the guides and blog does not). When you choose Continue with Google, Firebase Authentication (a Google service) stores your Google account's name, email address, profile photo link, and sign-in times so we can show who is signed in and fill your name and email into the resume when you ask. Your resume is never sent to Firebase or linked to your account. On the website, Firebase keeps your sign-in session in your browser's storage until you sign out. You can remove the sign-in record at any time with Delete account in the account menu.

8. Premium: payments and AI polish

ResumeJP Premium is an optional one-time payment. Payments are processed by Stripe: you enter your card or konbini details on Stripe's checkout page, and we never see or store your card number. Stripe sends us the payment amount, date, status, and the email address you entered, and we attach your sign-in ID to the payment so your pass works on your Google account. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the data it collects.

When you press AI polish, the text of that one field (for example your 自己PR) is sent through our server to Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI model, to be rewritten. Nothing else from your resume is sent. We do not store the text; Anthropic processes it to return the result, and under its commercial terms API data is not used to train its models by default.

9. The ResumeJP mobile app

The Android and iOS app builds and exports your resume on your phone. It keeps your draft in the app's private storage (you can turn this off in the app, which deletes it) and sends nothing about your resume to us, except for translation and postal-code lookup, which work as described above. The app has no ads and no analytics.

Signing in with Google in the app is optional and works as described in section 7. Premium is not sold in the app.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.

日本語の概要

ResumeJPは入力した履歴書をデータベースやブラウザのストレージに保存しません。ウェブサイトの履歴書エディターとPDFダウンロードにはGoogleログイン（無料）が必要です。ログインするとFirebase Authentication（Google）にGoogleアカウントの名前・メールアドレス・写真のリンクとログイン日時が保存されます（履歴書の内容は送信されません。アカウントメニューの「アカウントを削除」でいつでも削除できます）。編集とプレビューはブラウザ内で行います。ただし、PDFダウンロード時は履歴書（写真を含む）を当サイトのサーバー（Vercel）に送信してPDFを作成し、保存せずに返します。翻訳ボタンを押すと、氏名・住所などのテキスト項目が当サイトのサーバー経由でGoogle翻訳に送信されます。郵便番号を入力すると、郵便番号がzipcloudに送信されます。ダウンロードしたPDFには再読み込み用に履歴書データが埋め込まれています。有料のプレミアムを購入すると、決済はStripeが処理し、カード番号は当サイトに保存されません。「AIで整える」を押すと、その欄の文章だけがAnthropic（Claude）に送信されて書き直され、当サイトでは保存しません。ガイドやブログなどのコンテンツページではGoogle AdSenseの広告を表示し、Cookieが使用されます（エディターには広告はありません）。パーソナライズ広告はマイアドセンターで無効にできます。お問い合わせはお問い合わせページからどうぞ。
